Dear beloved brothers and singers,

I wanted to send a brief update to let you know that Brothers Denny and Andy have concluded the work of mixing and producing our What Heavenly Music recording, and we will begin distributing CDs and MP3s soon, in the next few days and weeks!

CDs will be mailed and/or distributed using the network of our rich heritage and brotherhood, and once we’ve worked out the details, we will be reaching out by email to those who ordered MP3 recordings with a way to download your files.  Also, look for an announcement soon from Rejoicify regarding the opportunity to listen to our recording there – be sure to register for an account if you haven’t already!

Although I’ve listened to the tracks at least 2 dozen times, it was still very moving to review the “final mix” last week, and I’m truly humbled to have been part of this work.  Dear men, how I look forward to joining you all in that marvelous choir in the sky, when we’ve all crossed over Jordan!  Thank you for participating and praying for God’s blessings on our efforts!

On behalf of the Morris and Morris North churches, I want to thank all who came to worship with us for the 2025 men’s sing. We were blessed beyond measure to have you here, and as those Heavenly Chords just keep flooding our souls, we thank the Lord and you for sharing your talents with us in the Morris area.  It’s humbling to be the beneficiaries of such an outpouring of beauty, harmony, emotion, and love as we experienced throughout the weekend.

Lord willing, the 2027 ACMS will be hosted by Roanoke, Illinois, and they plan to share a tentative date soon to get it on your calendars.  We also announced Saturday night that Akron, OH, has expressed the desire to host in 2029.

Practices

Reminder that Brother Andy Sauder will coordinate two practices at the Morton Fellowship Hall. The first will be Saturday, August 9 from 6-8 pm, following the General Brotherhood  Conference in Tremont.  The second will be Thursday, August 14 from 7-9 pm.

Please text Andy at (309) 453-0320 if you plan to attend so he can prepare enough copies of the music and update you with any changes to the schedule.

Our tentative schedule for the weekend is as follows:

Friday, August 22:

7:00 pm – supper and accommodations meetup at the Morris North church

Saturday, August 23:
9:30 am – registration at the Morris church
10:00 am – Welcome, announcements, and warm-ups
10:15 am – Practice and record
12:30 pm – Lunch
1:15 pm – Practice and record
~ 3:30 pm – Break
5:30 pm  – Supper
6:15 pm – Practice and record
~ 9:00 pm – Estimated finish time

Similar to prior years, we plan to practice the first few songs until the recording equipment is ready and then record those songs.  Subsequently, we will practice and record one song at a time until we conclude.

Sunday, August 24:
All are invited to sing Sunday during a special song service at the Morris church immediately following the afternoon service.

Bus

There is a bus scheduled that will leave from Rensselaer, IN, and make stops in Valparaiso, Belvidere, and Minneapolis on the way to Morris.  Go to https://www.accbustrips.org/future/august-2025/morris-mn for details and to register or contact the organizers.

Friday PM supper

We are planning to host a supper at the Morris North church at 7 pm on Friday night, August 22, for all who are coming in Friday evening.

Only If you are not coming on the bus, please RSVP by text or email to me if you will join us for supper, even if you won’t get here until 7 or later.

Also, please plan to come to the Morris North church to meet your overnight hosts if you have not made other arrangements, even if you will not be coming for supper.

Music updates

We added new endings to The Fire Song and Christ Arose, and the website has been updated with those arrangements.  Always refer to the website for the most current version of the music.  The last revision date is noted below the download button for each piece.

Registration

We’re thrilled to share that 130 of you have visited the website in 2025 and 109 have indicated you plan to sing, which is fantastic, but there’s definitely still room for more!  Please register or login and update your profile information to make sure it’s current.

If you have any trouble at all with registration, email or text me and we’ll collect your information manually.

Greetings in the name of our Lord!

The Morris and Morris North congregations look forward to hosting the Men’s Sing on August 23, 2025.  If you’ve not already registered but plan to come, please register.  And if you’re not planning to attend this year, please login and update your profile accordingly.  Thank you.

As we continue preparing for the 2025 men’s sing, we hope you’ll help us through prayer and practice. In particular, we’ve published a PDF and MP3 audio file of each song in the “Quick Links” 2025 Hymn List sidebar to the right (PC) or at the bottom (mobile device) to help you learn the songs ahead of time.  We will be sharing plans for practice sessions soon, and we encourage you to schedule a time with other brothers in your and nearby churches to sing through the songs if you are not near where practices are planned.

We pray these songs will bless and inspire you like they’ve blessed and inspired the men’s sing organizers already.

Once you’ve finished any practices, please delete or destroy any copies you’ve downloaded or printed. On the day of the recording, we will provide each singer with a choir book containing a copy of each song. Furthermore, these copies will include a few more final details not noted in these preliminary PDFs, such as dynamics, solos or duets, measures to repeat, and similar flourishes that emphasize the message.

Lord willing, the Morris and Morris North churches are excited to host the 2025 AC Men’s Sing on Saturday, August 23 at the Morris church.  Brother Andy Sauder from our Morton congregation has agreed to be our director, and we have begun the process of selecting songs, planning to have those available to you by mid-June.

Please join us for a weekend of beautiful singing and wonderful fellowship.  Our sisters are working on a schedule that will include a visit to Inherit Clothing Company and Farm Road Flowers, so if you’re married, please plan to bring your wife (and checkbook…!) along too!

We realize many of you will need to make travel plans via air, bus, or carpool, and we are hopeful to have enough interest to warrant bringing a charter bus from Ohio, Indiana, and/or Illinois, so please consider that option.  For those traveling by air, Fargo and Minneapolis will be your best options, and their 2+ hour distance from Morris precludes us from making airport transfer arrangements for you.

Greetings,

I am humbled and blessed to be the brother up in front in Morris. If you sang in Tremont in 2011, you may recall I was directing while nursing a very painful sprained ankle. Despite the pain it was an incredible experience, so this year the close harmony and worship will be enjoyed in its full inspiring effect! We are working to finalize the song selection and then hope to have practice sessions prior to the recording date.

Looking forward to praising our Great God together.
